Wayne W. Rath, PT, Dip MDT 

Wayne graduated from the Physical Therapy Program at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY in 1975. Wayne started his career at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange, NJ. He went into private practice in 1978, and is the co-founder of four thriving practices: Twin Boro Physical Therapy (originally in Roselle Park, NJ) , Spine Center of New Jersey (now called the Spine and Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Center: Raritan, NJ), Summit Physical Therapy (Syracuse, NY) and Duffy-Rath Physical Therapy (Syracuse, NY). 

Wayne’s current position is President, Director of Treatment, Ergonomics and Research Services for Duffy-Rath Physical Therapy (DRPT).  Wayne and Jean Duffy Rath are the sole owners of DRPT providing physical therapy diagnostic, treatment and consultative services for patients, musculoskeletal injury prevention throughout Central New York and across the country, health and wellness management services and continuing education workshops for licensed clinical and rehabilitation professionals.   

Wayne is frequently requested to speak and participate in national and international conferences regarding the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of spine pain and cumulative/repetitive strain disorders and disability. He has published many papers and articles, written chapters in textbooks, provided national teleconferences and presented at grand rounds at a number of medical centers. He provides consultative services for private practices, medical centers and industries throughout the country. He is currently writing a textbook for assessment, treatment and prevention of activity-related spinal disorders.

Wayne has received many awards and acknowledgements, including: Orthopaedic Section of the APTA for contributions to the development of this Board Specialty, Faculty of the Year, McKenzie Institute International, Wayne W Rath Award, McKenzie Institute U.S. for teaching excellence, ‘Best Practice’ award for prevention of musculoskeletal injuries (Carrier UTC), Center of Excellence, OSHA for prevention services for Lockheed Martin Corporation, MS2 (Syracuse, NY).
